There are many long term effects of the imperialism of the Congo. The primary two being the broken economy in the DRC, and what could possibly be classified as a Genocide in the DRC.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo has been involved in many wars with both themselves, and other countries. These conflicts have killed over 6 million people. Plundering and murder have been used to discourage people from living on resource-rich lands.
Believe it or not, imperialism effects all of us. It determines which things we can import from different countries, and the political ties between multiple countries.
